Graedon's world...
Lauren: "Grae, do you want a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch?"
Grae: "No, I want a boy-ed cheese sandwich." He pronounces "girl", "grill."
later on...
Grae: "Oh look, it's boy-ing!" (instead of grilling).
-----------------------------------------------------
One of our Westminster Shorter catechism question/answers is "Who wrote the Bible?". The correct answer is "Chosen men who wrote by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit."
Graedon knows this but the "chosen men" part is abstract for him. Who are they? Sometimes they are bad guys, as in, the "chosen men" did it. The other day they were the Presidents of the United States. Grae got out our children's encyclopedia and saw a couple of pages that listed portraits of all the Presidents. He told Maddie, "look chosen men." Well I guess they are. We believe God chooses Presidents so in a way they are chosen. Just not the chosen men who wrote the Bible!

That is cute...made me want to go make some "girl-ed cheese" sandwiches, or should I say, "boy-ed cheese" sandwich! Either way they sure taste yummy and are a favorite around here as well!
Try this variation and you'll never go back to plain old cheese slices!
Shred some moz and cheddar together in a bowl. Mash in some softened cream cheese. At a blob of mayo and some sprinkling of garlic powder. Mix together well and grill a big mess of it between 2 slices of sour dough bread. All the ooey gooey goodness oozes out! They are even better dipped in creamy tomato soup!
Bethany asks for this quite often, although I am sure they are a real butt-buster! LOL!
Okay...now I'm REALLY hungry!
My boys want "boy cheese sandwiches" too. Isn't it funny how they feel that really needs to be clarified?
My boys are doing a catechism that talks about the Holy Ghost. OOOO.. now there's fodder for a boyish imagination.
I keep wanting to film them doing it and put it on my blog because O especially does it with such a dramatic flair. :)
Ooooh better yet - try grilling a few thick slices of Brea cheese between some thickly cut italian loaf or sourdough... DROOL.
Darn, I need to get some brea now!
