How I get stuff for free....

Since Brian has been chronically unemployed, I've gone back to my first love: couponing for free things.

Here is a picture of a recent haul. Most of this was either completely free, less than $1.00 or they paid me to take it. The girls get the list I generate from The Grocery Game and then sit down to cut coupons. This takes 45 minutes a week.

This mostly works for household items but I get great deals on food too. Since we make most of our meals from scratch, I ignore the convenience food. The kids love cereal and so I stock up when I can get it for less than $2.00 for 15 oz. Right now I'm spending $1.00 - $1.50 at Albertsons for some cereal which makes the girls happy.

I used to match up ads with the coupons on my own and it took a few hours. The Grocery Game does that for me know so it saves time. I would recommend it! She gives out a trial for $1.00 so it's worth it to try it. Be sure to start saving a few weeks of Sunday paper ads before you start, otherwise you will not be able to do many deals.

Oh and if you go to sign up, you can use my email address : amy shearer @ alittle busy .com and I can get some weeks free!

Kathy turned me onto the grocery game about 6 months ago. I didn't think I'd like it at first because it seemed like most the stuff on the list was convenience foods I wouldn't buy anyways. But, as it turns out, there's enough "regular" food on there for it to work great for us. Using the lists I can shop at Albertsons and Safeway instead of the icky Winco near me - hurray! (My Winco is the local criminal hang out for Clackamas, apparently) I also get more stuff that I used to for my $100/week household budget. It's usually kinda fun to see how high I can make the "percent saved" number on my receipt go. :) So far, I think my best week was 77% at Safeway. Good luck saving! :)

Oooo, I LOVE a good bargain. Getting a good deal is such a high for me. I belong to a website called RefundCents.com - I've been a member since before my second child was born, so at least 9 years now. It's a wealth of info and very inexpensive to belong to.

This weekend will be open to anyone to visit and see what it's all about. If you're interested, come visit Fri, Sat, and/or Sun. The user name and password are both wifeswap (all lower case and one word). If you decide to join, I'd love for you to use me as your referral - noboty at kalama. com

Happy bargain hunting, it's soooo fun to get things for free or nearly free!
